Golden Valley Firefighters quickly extinguished a pick-up truck fire that threatened the home located in the 7700 block of Shinarump Road. The call came in about 4:30 p.m. from the homeowner who reported the truck had just been used 15-minutes prior to the fire and when he noticed black smoke coming from the other side of the home; he was greeted with his 2006 Nissan cab engulfed in flames. The fire was extinguished with minutes, preventing it from spreading to the adjacent home or the water-hauling trailer being towed by the Nissan. Captain Boyd Lewis said the cause is still under investigation and there were no injuries due to the fire.
