Golden Valley Fire theft

Golden Valley Fire Chief Tom O’Donohue reported six 50-foot rolls of 6-foot chain-link fencing equaling 300 feet was stolen within the last three days from the new Golden Valley Fire District Public Safety Training Center located at 423 South Colorado Road. The value of the fencing is approximately $500.00.  Arizona State inmate crews can be seen installing the fence around the 10-acres as part of an Agreement between MTC / Arizona State Prison and the Golden Valley Fire District as part of ongoing cost-savings initiatives.  Within two days the Fire District anticipates having the entire 10-acres fenced securely and security cameras operational within 24-hours which will be monitored 24 hours a day to prevent vandalism and thefts such as this.  For interim, all supplies have been placed inside the building to prevent further thefts.  A theft report has been filed with MCSO and members of the community are encouraged to contact MCSO if they have information on this theft or if they observe new 6-foot fencing being installed or if seen in a garage sale in the local area.
