Firefighters quickly stopped a fire inside this home at 5600 Burro Road
Thursday at 12:03 p.m. The homeowner called 911 to report a roof fire that
started from the chimney pipe. Firefighters arrived within 2-minutes and
quickly extinguished the fire that was spreading through the roof area.
In all, three fire engines, two water tenders, one attack unit and two chief
officers responded. The fire was declared under control within 16-minutes
of dispatch. Fire damage was contained to the dining room area ceiling,
although there was moderate smoke damage throughout the home. Golden
Valley Fire Marshal Randy Osborn remained on scene to conduct the final
investigation and assist the homeowners with temporary housing needs.
