Brush Fire along HWY-93

Golden Valley Firefighters quickly extinguish a brush & grass fire in the median of Hwy-93 at about Mile Post 65 Monday at approximately 12:30 in the afternoon.  High temperatures and windy conditions, coupled with low humidity make this time of year especially susceptible to quick moving brush fires in the area.  Mohave County has been under Red Flag warnings several times in the past month and burning restrictions remain in place to prevent wildfires.  Firefighters suspect a mower cutting the grass in the median may have caused a spark that ignited this fire.  Golden Valley Fire Captain David Martin thanked motorists for slowing as they pass all emergency scenes making it a safer emergency scene for all involved.  Traffic was slowed for about 20-minutes while firefighters extinguished all hot spots.
